Mayweather Pacquiao rematch set for September 19 in Vegas

Floyd Mayweather will face off against Manny Pacquiao in a historic rematch on September 19. The fight is scheduled to take place at the Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada and will be streamed globally on Netflix.

This announcement comes just days after Mayweather announced his comeback to the sport of boxing, ending his nearly nine year retirement in 2017. Mayweather last fought professionally against Conor McGregor, winning the bout via 10th Round TKO. Mayweather has participated in a series of exhibition bouts throughout his retirement, fighting names such as Logan Paul and John Gotti III. He is reportedly going to face Mike Tyson in his first comeback fight prior to taking on Pacquiao later this year.

Manny Pacquiao, on the other hand, as remained fairly active since Mayweather's retirement. Pacquaio defeated Adrien Broner and Keith Thurman in 2019. In 2022, he lost a competitive bout to Yordenis Ugas. This past summer, Pacquiao challenged Mario Barrios for the WBC Welterweight Title. Using his footwork and craftiness, Pacquiao showed great efforts, with the fight ending in a draw.
